This is a self-defined embodiment of home. It contains symbols of intimate memories and the imaginary texture of it. It is the idea of a home makes up a home.
After primary school I began to move a lot due to my parents’ change in jobs and my change in schools. There’re are sorts of shelter that’d granted my existence:
- my parents’ house
- my grandparents’ house
- storage room on the rooftop of my parents’ house
- wooden cabin of my summer camp
- secret base at the park when I was 7
- dormroom
- the apartment I’m staying now,  subletting from my friend

The list of shelter can go on but I noticed as much as it expands, it is full of possessive adjectives and none of those properties are really mine. This triggers me to find, or possibly construct a permanent residence; and I sadly found out there’s no place can be occupied forever. However the idea of home is long-lasting and I decided to represent my comprehension of it building on the shape of a baby mobile.

On top of this piece, I wanted to make it more dynamic, something other than the spinning frame. I chose the video I took the last time I visited my grandmother, when she showed me how to knit a web pattern. Grandma is a consistant figure of my childhood, the maternal care of her shaped a part of me, while the details remain nostalgically blurry. Cooperating this, I chose white as the base color of the mobile, to provide a 3D canvas for the video.
